SCOTLAND
THE WESTIN TURNBERRY RESORT

Set on a hill overlooking its own golf courses and the sea, a one-hour drive from Glasgow, built in the style of an Edwardian country house, the venerable Westin Turnberry Resort welcomes guests from all over the world to enjoy its exceptional golf and spa facilities.132 traditionally-styled guest rooms and suites are spread around the main hotel and newer spa wing (built in 1991). Nearby are nine two-bedroom cottages and 12 six-to eight-bedroom lodges booked for family gatherings, golf outings and corporate entertaining.

Breakfast and dinner are served in the elegant main dining room. Lunch and dinner are offered at the Terrace atop the spa building. Light meals, snacks and drinks are also available at the golf club house until 7:00pm. There are several bars and lounges with piano music during the evenings.

The major attraction is its world-renowned golf facilities with 45 holes of championship golf and a golf academy. Other sport facilities include two tennis courts, two squash courts, a billiard room, an indoor, glass-enclosed swimming pool and Jacuzzi, a well-equipped exercise room and a spa offering numerous massage, therapy and beauty treatments. Fishing, archery, shooting, falconry, horse riding and mountain biking can be arranged.

Strong Points: A golfer’s paradise offering comfortable accommodations, fine dining, a world-class spa and sophisticated service all in a typical, Scottish coastal setting.
