FIJI
THE WAKAYA CLUB

Wakaya Island encircled by a coral reef and composed of lush emerald rain forests, soaring cliffs and 32 sparkling white-sand beaches is accessible from Nadi airport by a 45-minute flight in the resorts own twin-engine plane. On the most desirable 200 acres at the northwest end of the island are the Wakaya Club’s eight 1,600-square-foot bures (bungalows), set in a former coconut plantation stretching along a white sandy beach, fronting turquoise waters.

Dining takes place either in your bure, at the open-air dining pavilion or by candlelight on the beach. Lazing on the beach, scuba, snorkeling, deep sea fishing and other water sports are the main attractions. There is a 9-hole pitch-and-putt golf course, one tennis court and a croquet lawn.

Strong Points: Private, secluded, boutique resort with spacious accommodations and a pleasant Fijian environment.
