Located on 6,500 acres in the upland valley of the Allegheny Mountains, this venerable Southern-colonial-style resort dates back to the 19th century with numerous additions and renovations over the years. Of the 802 guest rooms, 221 are located in cottages spread around the gardens. This is considered a top convention resort with 30 conference and meeting rooms, the largest seating 2,000 auditorium style. There are several dining venues and music at dinner time in all restaurants and in the Old White Club Lounge.
 
The resort is best known for its three excellent 18-hole golf courses. Other sport facilities include an outdoor and indoor swimming pool, a large state-of-the-art spa, five outdoor and five indoor tennis courts, horseback riding, an eight-lane bowling center, a gun club and a hunting and fishing reserve.
