SWITZERLAND
BEAU RIVAGE PALACE

This elegant, traditional European grand hotel, which dates back to 1861 sits on an 11-acre terrace park overlooking Lake Leman (a/k/a Lake Geneva) reminiscent of the French seaside resorts. Between 1993 and 2001 the entire hotel received extensive renovations and modernizations while maintaining its traditional décor. 169 air-conditioned, spacious guestrooms vary in size and decor and include 29 suites. There are 11 high-tech conference facilities that can accommodate up to 600 guests.

Lunch and dinner are offered at the Rotonde, the gourmet restaurant overlooking the park and lake, or at the informal Café Beau Rivage, a Parisian-style brasserie. Other venues include a poolside grill, dinner cruises on the lake and a bar with entertainment. An indoor/outdoor swimming pool sits in the park in front of the hotel building next to a health club that offers an exercise room, sauna, steam and massage. In front of the pool are a children’s playground and two tennis courts. Water-skiing, horseback riding and golf can be arranged.

Strong Points: An elegant, traditional, newly-renovated resort hotel with luxurious accommodations, excellent dining and service and many facilities in an attractive, lake-side setting.
